BIO Hello, my name is Sam Bogner and I am an information professional interested in the organization, dissemination, and metadata of visually descriptive materials. In 2019, I graduated from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ with a Masters of Information in the Archives and Preservation concentration. In 2014, I received a BFA in Sculpture and Expanded Media from the Cleveland Institute of Art in Cleveland, Ohio. As an artist, research is central to my practice. Gathering alien images from disparate parts of the web, reading up on the latest space-faring tech, and finding obscure videos of early sci-fi experiments are what drive passion need for continued discovery. From my time at Rutgers, I have gained specialized knowledge in how to find information and how to organize it in useful and meaningful ways. As an archivist, I hope to use my unique perspective to enhance the experience of users, particularly the art community. I also aim to facilitate the growing needs of artist archives, particularly in digital media and web based content. |
